Call for Technology Demonstrations
We are seeking the best and brightest examples of Upstate
technology, anywhere in the continuum from lab to market, that have clear business
growth implications. If your company, research lab or university group has a
technology demonstration, we are interested in hearing from you. Though we will
consider ALL technology areas, this year’ conference will feature developments
and demos in the following areas:
Nanotechnology
Life Sciences and Healthcare
Defense technologies
Communications & Internet
Green Energy & Environmental Technologies
The conference will be held Oct. 9-10 at the Oncenter facility in Syracuse,
NY. Technology Demonstrations will open at 9:00 am on October 9 and remain open
until 6:00 pm on October 10. We are planning to have special walkthroughs of
the demos with the press, speakers, panelists and participating VIP’s.
Application Process
Submit a one-page Cover Sheet with the following information:
- Organization name, location and contact person with contact details
- Up to a one-half page description of the technology demonstration. Precisely
what is it that will be presented and in what manner.
- Provide brief background
on the organization responsible for the demo and any history or perspectives
that will provide context for the demo. Specifically describe the benefits of
the technology for your business and the implications for a particular industry
segment or customer group
Submit a requirements specification for the demonstration – 3 page
maximum
- Diagram of physical space including all equipment, furniture, number of people,
and any other items involved
- Specify support requirements including power,
audio/visual, lighting, etc.
Provide setup requirements for the demonstration
- We will have access to the Oncenter at approximately 6:00 am on October 9
for setup. Please provide a statement of any special setup needs for the demo
including equipment, people or other.
NOTE: There is a standard fee for the technology demo exhibit of $500. This fee covers the following: 1) an 8' x 10' booth (with draping), one basic electrical connection, WiFi, table and a program listing. Any additional equipment, physical requirements, personnel, set-up and expenses required outside of the basics outlined in the summary above are the sole responsibility of the exhibiting organization / company. Total costs will be estimated in advance and charged to the exhibiting organization / company. All payments are due prior to September 20, 2007.

Selection Process
A committee of
fuse advisors will review all technology demo proposals and make selection decisions
based on fit with the fuse mission, the broad impact and implications of the
technology and the availability of space.
